Default Riding to London in rush hour

Afternoon all. Pardon me for intruding, but I gotta question about London traffic and routes.

Can you take a look at this please:
http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?p=1334054

...specifically post number 7, and let me know if you think

a) its possible, and
b) where my major snagging points are going to be AFTER THE M25

Cheers,
Kev

Forgot to mention - the route is not important, its Googles interpretation of a good route - so anything better would be greatly received. Its the destination that counts.....

I'm familiar with the alternate roads to London up until about Kingston, and will be TomTom-tastic all the way.

(*must remember to charge it...and take charger with me)

Fastest way will be the way Google maps shows it. M25/M4. No cameras on the M25 from the M3 junction to the M4 junction. 3 cameras in the bus lane on the M4 (which you CAN use). Be careful from the end of the M4 to your destination if you are not used to riding in London. Watch out for couriers (faster than you think and no sense of self preservation) and me (I travel in that way every day). There are a few cameras in London so keep an eye out for 'em!

HTH!!

Indeed. I found longer vehicles hardest, purely because the direction of the front end dictates where the rear is going. Damn you National Express and low loaders.

Out of interest, at what speed does filtering/making progress become reckless/dangerous?

I was quite happy on the M25 doing 50-60 in lane 2.5.....

Is that a bad thing?

+1!! Staines to London Bridge via M25/M4/Earls Court/Vauxhall/Elephant & Castle = 35/40 mins @ rush hour!

***Note to self. 110mph filtering in stationary traffic is not big and clever!! It's just silly!!***
