xmas dinner

I'm doing a big meal for my nearest and dearest tomorrow - huge rib of beef with all the trimmings, cos my brother claims he doesn't like turkey.

no idea what I'm getting on the big day itself tho, as I'll be on a boat halfway down the Nile!

Spent last Christmas out there too and i much prefer the quieter sunnier and warmer Spanish Christmas

Planning on Scallops with spanish ham for starter - Turkey and chestnuts and then hot pancakes with brandy and cream for pud (as i hate christmas pudding!)..

Where is the "I'm working 3-10pm on Xmas Day, then 6pm-2am Boxing day" option.

This year i will mainly be eating butties with whatever comes to hand from the cupboard. (tins of corned beef or tuna).

My 5 and 7 year old boys are not the best veg eaters in the world (all parents nodding knowingly) so last year we hit on an idea.

We asked the kids what they wanted for christmas dinner...last year they chose pie and chips followed by ice cream.

This year we are having sausage and chips.

SWMBO doesn't have to spend 25 hours slaving over a hot stove to dish up a load of grub that no one will eat, which then leads to an argument and usually results in one or both children dispatched to bedrooms.....

Instead grub is cooked in about an hour with minimal washing up, clean plates and smiles all round.

Sorted.
