Default Ebay query please.

I put a bid on something that had a 99p start price with no reserve and a buy it now of £150.

I bid the 99p. This was yesterday. Today I had an email telling me that the item was no longer available. After checking, the seller pulled the auction. I sent him an email asking why he had pulled it. His reply was that he had missed important information from the title but it was now re-listed. I checked and he was correct. But the start bid is now £50. It's obvious why he did it. Question is, is he allowed to do that

yep he can cancel upto 24hrs-might even be 12hrs-if he's changed his description then the starting price there's nowt you can do mate-i won a set of sv carbs for a tenner, seller wouldn't accept payment answer emails etc, three weeks later item was relisted and sold for over £30-i chinned him about it but he said his computer was broke but i was free to bid again-told hiom to stick them up his ar$e and left bad feedback-but thats ebay for you.

It's not malarky, he changed his mind and relisted with terms as he saw fit, I've done it before. As said, he couldn't have changed it if there were less than 12 hours to run. Better allow a change than having the auction run then just stiffing the buyer.

Surely he could have edited the listing and then emailed any bidders. As the ape was the only bidder(99p) then i doubt it would have been a problem. Worst case of scenario the seller could then retract the bid.

In reality i think we all know that the seller was probably too cheap to pay to put a reserve on and wanted to set the start price low to attract interest. He then thought it might not realise its actual value, so he withdrew the listing.

Anyhow i'm far more interested on what the ape was bidding on.....he's made an effort to avoid saying what it is. Knowing him as i do, my money is on a 2nd hand porn stash.
