Default Recommend me...

a mini holiday.

I have a week's annual leave coming up in April and I need time out to help me through my mid life crisis.

Not abroad.

On my own.

Any ideas?

Move in with Nick_1871 in Bracknell?

Lots of decent roads in our neck of the woods.

Mel the best time away and also good for confidence building is out on the bike, go somewhere you can take the bike, find a b&b. To me my bike is my own little world that no-one can invade, so relaxing.

There is no-one to keep up with or entertained, you can go at your own pace. I am planning something on my own one day eventually down to Devon as I have family down there.

Depends on what you enjoy and what you are looking for really.

An action holiday or, a think and relax holiday.

I would recommend hiring a static caravan here:-

http://www.fonab.dsl.pipex.com/index2.htm

The statics are lovely inside, cheap to hire and are in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK.

There is so much to do from there as a base.....

Go for walks
Climb a mountain
Canyoning
Rafting
Visit castles
Blair athol Palace spa and health place
Just rent a push bike
Drive/ride and explore the amazing roads, rivers and scenary

One recommendation i make to anyone in that area is a drive up 'Ben Lawes'........Most importantly the route from the A827 to 'The Bridge of Baglie'......There is an amazing Cafe at the bridge in the middle of no where, they see maybe 10 people a day, you rarely pass another car, the road up is just amazing and follows an equally amazing river. At the bridge if you turn left you can drive a single track to 'Loch Lyon', this road is equally amazing and when you get there, its the quietest place i have ever been. The road is supposed to be a dead end but you can follow a moutain rescue road/Oil pipeline service road that isnt on the map to Kenock, which ultimately leads to Killin. I go here every year, my girlfriend was annoyed the first time i said I wanted to go here, she loved it and was equally sat quite and amazed by the end of it.

You cant really describe this route and do it justice.

Thats my recommendation anyway if you want a relaxing yet awe inspiring holiday, i will be doing it again this year.

I've always wanted to just get on the bike and ride off somewhere, but I'm so not confident riding too far on my own. There's so many places in the country I've never been to and want to visit so this would be ideal.

It's just convincing myself that I can do it.

You've seen my riding. Not good at all.

Mel there is nothing wrong with your riding, and I heard on Hardy Bikers you were cooking hot until your lapse.

All you have to do is turn that key start her up kit up, have some clothes and go somewhere, go to a nice place with a B&B thats not a mission away but still gives you a good journey out.

Be confident in yourself Mel, you have no need to rush so there are no problems

Awww bless you Plowsie. You sound like my mum.

I've buggererd off before in my car and had such a great time.

Doing it on the bike gives me the heeby jeebies, but it would probably be awesome.

You'll have to negotiate with Nick if you want to stay longer.

get down to newquay. surf down there is brill. get yourself booked on a beginners course with a school and enjoy. don't be worried about going on your own you will make freinds on the course, totally recommended. the only problem will be you'll never do anything else for a holiday other than surf, and you'll wanna move to the beach.

Melody

AS said, pick a couple of places you want to go on the bike, jump on it and go there. You will 100% fine. Take your time, its only you that you need to please. Just have your phone and credit/debit card, job done.
