Removing the Safety Stickers?

Brand new SV650........so has a number of stickers on the Fairing and the tank saying stuff like "Face forward when operating motorcycle" and "do not drink the sump oil"

Any easy way of removing these? - apart from carefully (and slowly!) with a thumbnail?

You have to sign a waiver first

Warm/hot water and a sponge. It'll loosen the glue holding them on.

then some wd40 to take the excess glue off

Hair dryer them until they are soft and they should peel off, any sticky residue left behind can be wiped off with a clean rag and a spot of petrol.

I gave the hairdryer method a go and it didn't work for me, the stickers just ended up snapping and coming off in bits, it took ages to get the 1st sticker off and then i still had to get rid of the sticky residue.

I ended up using the petrol-on-a-rag mathod that Fizz suggested - use a clean rag, put some petrol on it & get rubbing. It takes a bit of elbow grease but the petrol gradually disintegrates the sticker and once it's started to, it comes off very quickly. No sticky residue either cos the petrol gets rid of it.

Not long enough with the hairdryer, it does take longer than what people think, mine all came off in one go as a whole sticker and left only a small bit of sticky residue.

Either that or my mum has a crap hairdryer! I know what you mean though, it felt like I'd held the hairdyer there for ages and the sticker felt hot, but mayeb just needed to persevere a bit longer. Once the sticker had snapped though there was no way the rest was coming off in one piece!
