Front subframe question (650S k6)

How much for a new one?

Numpty incident this morning means I'm in the market for a new cowling frame (aka front subframe).

I reckon it can probably be bent back into shape, but I'm not sure if I want to stress the metal that much.

a good condition rear one cost me £40 from a breakers.....have a look on ebay...it'd be cheaper to get one from there like I did and have it powdercoated, than that mahoooosive price

ouch on the 167 pounds for a front sub frame! what about a breakers yard and getting a second hand one?

Thanks for the replies folks. I shall be hunting for parts as it's not immediately essential that it's fixed. The bike's handling isn't affected in any way.

When the bike was dropped, the first thing I saw was the broken gear lever It wasn't until I rode it that it was evident that the front plastics were out of shape too. I don't know for definate if the cowling brace is bent, but it's looking that way.

What the drop cost me? Well, in official brand new parts:
- Cowling brace (maybe) £167
- Gear lever Ass. £75. This is now bodge fixed by drilling & bolting.
- Pride - nothing, happend in the back garden out of view of everyone. Bonus.

How did it happen? Well, I've told a few folks already, but the bike was on the paddock stand overnight last night. I started the engine & went to get my gear on to let the engine warm. Came back to the bike, put the sidestand down, dropped it off the paddock stand and went to put the paddock away.

Bang, bike falls off the sidestand into a wall, then onto the floor. I can only imagine that I didn't put the sidestand down properly. So like I said, numpty moment.

I've been through about 3 ebay about £50 each. How you managed to bend it without damaging the fairing I'll never know
But if you figure out how to straighten it, I've got a couple of bent ones!

The fairing is undamaged, thankfully. But the incident has written off a kitchen during the fall.
