How do i keep my laptop on all night?
Im downloading a large music torrent which is going to take a good few hours.
How can i leave this downloading on my laptop without it going on standby? Will a screensaver keep it going all night? |

Set the power management options in Control Panel (I'm assuming Windows). There's an option for "time until sleep."

just make sure that the powersave option is turned off and it should be ok.

put some music on but unplug your speakers, that's what I usually do.

if your using torrent you can set it to turn off once complete, or power management as said ^

Is it XP If so you can select the "Always on" profile from the power management settings in control panel.
Some laptops however have power management in the BIOS which overrides any windows settings. Refer to your manual for more help with this.

Damn thing didnt work. I set it to never sleep and never turn off when plugged in, but at about 4 in the morning i saw it was on the log in screen and it had only done 4% of the download.
