ok i got some tolero (or something ) richa trousers from the bike show in november. The only reason i got these is i have a richa multi jacket and wanted them to zip together.
Now i had commuted in them a couple of times but never in any heavy rain. A month o so ago i went for a run with tonyS and after 5 miles i was soaked through!!! So i returned them through dc motorcycles (who i have to admit have been fantastic despite me not getting them from there) Anyhow to cut a long story short theyve now lost them (nevis marketing the agents for richa) So im stuck. They have offered me 50 quid (what i paid) towards another pair of their trousers. I would have liked the multi but these are now discontinued so am looking at the monsoon! unfortunatly its going to cost me another 50 quid to get these as there obviousy moe expensive! At the moment im pretty pvd about th whole situation and having to shell out for some more kit! So is it worth it? are the monsoon trousers any good? etc etc? cheers! andy ![]() |

The Monsoon ones are the Richa trousers I have. Had them for 4 years now, been in some proper torrential rain for hundreds of miles in one go, and they still haven't leaked. Not even had to rewaterproof them.
They're still around 100 quid then?. Personally I wouldn't pay anything less than that for a pair of textile pants anyway.

Monsoon are a very good budget winter trousers, waterproof, removeable thermal lining and a bit of knee and hip protection.
Where i work we stock Richa clothing and sell a lot of these, cant remember any customers yet coming back and complaining about them with a problem, go and try them out for size is all i can say! http://www.nevism.co.uk/content.asp?...&sid=62&pid=94 Bit of info for you as well ![]() Last edited by Holdup; 13-07-10 at 06:44 PM. |

I also like the fact that they come in long lengths. I gave up on leathers because my legs are always too long! As Holdup says, warm in winter, waterproof, I rarely take the lining out, and feel confident and comfortable with the hip and knee armour.
TBH I thought they may have gotten discontinued by now as they've been going for years.....that says it all really, must be good for them not to change them for something else.

I had 3 pairs of Monsoon trousers. They stuck to thier name as in inside was a moonsoon! Other than that, i really did like the fit of these. They wernt too bulky and very comfy, pitty they leaked...all 3 paris.

Rayven and spada are ok budget stuff if you're looking for alternatives.
Weise is highly rated - not sure about pricing though, might be a bit more expensive. My first set of (£30) rayven textiles leaked like a seive so they replaced them with their more expensive ones straight after the complaint. These are waterproof - not quite as comfy though but think that's my lankyness at play. I originally bought textiles then bought my leathers - had I have owned leathers first I would have just used a rainsuit. They're 100% waterproof and can be packed up at a minutes notice if the sun comes out. Just a thought...
