Default Bandit engine problem, maybe.

Hey guys,

Was riding to work today and for about a minute or so my bandit felt like it had heavy engine braking (best way i can describe it) with the clutch in and out and then it felt normal again :S any ideas? do i need to book it into the garage?

You will need to flesh out the details a bit more than that to tell us owt meaningful at all.

What was it like on power for a start?

well when on power it seemed fine but sounded abit rough, but as soon as the throttle was let go then it seemed like there was looads of engine braking and bike seemed to lunge forwards

have you got plenty of fuel in ??

sounds a bit like fuel starvation when running normally try flicking the kill switch off and back on see if it feels the same.

i have heard of one or 2 fuel pump issues on the bandits (BTW i own the bigger one)

i had about half a tank my bro seems to think it could be a fueling issue or maybe a blocked jet

i am thinking along the same lines either fuel or an electickery glitch.

keep an eye on it you may just have had a momentary blip or a blockage of one of the injectors.

hopefully it wont happen again, use popular petrol stations and try not to use cheaper supermarket stuff its usually the oldest petrol allowed to be sold and as such is more prone to being dirty / contaminated.

it was bone dry, the petrol was from a petrol station in the middle of nowhere (oh the joys of living in the country side) it has done it once before on a rideout and i revved it about 7k and it stopped
