Default Is it me or the tyres!!

My SV is running standard D220's and i,ve found that they slide really easy under breaking in the dry ( mostly rear but also slight front ), i dont feel that i'm hoying the anchors on too hard, in fact no more than my old powervalve. Anyboby have similar problems?

They are rubbish but I haven't had problems with them sliding in the dry unless I'm braking fairly hard.

Once they're warm they should be fine. Unfortunately, they do take quite a while to get properly warm.

I had a lot of rear lock ups when I had them fitted to mine. I puit it down to crap riding until I change for better tyres...then I put it down to crap tyres

Yes, I found this too with D220's on dry roads and cold weather

Is it possible that these tyres never warm up properly on cold roads

For example: I had been riding for 30 miles and the rear locked and skipped as I changed down gears, coming to a junction at the end of a 7 mile straight 'A road'. I didn't notice anything on the road surface which may have caused this. Thank God it wasn't wet

have you all considered that if you were persistant with these tyres and learnt how to ride really fast on crap tyres when you got decent rubber you would be unstoppable?

To be honest I never found them to be that bad. The back end used to buck a bit at 90 going round a bend on the gas, and I thought they were terrible in the wet. But riding in the dry on them I thought they handled fairly well. They took quite a while to warm up, but once warm the were fine.

Saying all that, I was riding in Spain, and wore the rear out before I got back.

Yes, I get that on the front a lot, even after they've warmed up. Always when I'm braking quite hard at low speeds and almost guaranteed in the cold and wet.

It was a bit scary at first (braking for a zebra crossing the day I picked the bike up and the thing just kept going right across) but it's always consistent and has never felt as if they're out of control when they do slide... just no grip

They're up to almost 5000 miles now and the back has squared off a little - was hoping to get Z6's soon but I'll probably have these for another few 1000 miles
