Default tread wear

Whilst looking for the reason for the bike wobbling I found that the rear tyre has a peculiar tread wear, the leading edge of the tread groove has tread sticking up and the rear of the tyre before the next grove is worn further down than the next leading edge. It looks like the tyre has scallops worn out of the tread. Can anyone help with a reason

Not quite sure what you mean, any pics?
I've found that most odd tyre wear is down to shagged suspension. Is your rear shock and linkage worn out?

Sounds to me he is refering to what is commonly known as cupping. You have not got a Bridgestone tyre have you .

I have in my experience found them to be worse although the front tyre is normally the culprit. Tyre pressures appear to have a hand to with tyres cupping .

Cheers
Ben

Do you regularly check your tyre pressure,( at least once every two weeks)
and check the wheel for balancing, a unbalanced wheel will bounce down the road, thus causing uneven wear on the tyre. This happend to me on my cage tyre. It Sounded like the wheel bearing was going but when I had the tyre changed the sound had gone.
