I've found with my bike that if I fill the oil too close to the max level mark that it starts dragging a lot? Hopefully you can sort it or at the least that the bike is still rideable.

Well it's relatively simple to drain a wee bit out. Hopefully that's all it is

Otherwise I might be riding north to fix to then head south again..... That said it looks like a nice route, I would join you but don't want to spoil your fun... I have great fun on Hartside last week, not done kirkstone on the bike yet, I have always headed down over shap.

someone called ...lol

not meaning to sound patronising or rude but the level was checked/topped up with the bike upright and not on the side stand...

easy fix if it has been topped up to much. unscrew the sump plug carefully and let a little oil out, with a clean beaker/jug/cup etc.etc under the plug to catch the oil so if you take to much out you can top back up with the oil you catch.

also depend on what you call to much clutch drag in neutral.. sitting on the bike while its running the bike should not move, engaging gear with the clutch in should be the same. if the bike is up on the paddock stand and the wheel is going round in neutral its fine as long as you can stop it with your foot.
