thanks - sounds like a real bargain - now to blood my son into the world of motorbikes. His total bike experience is just 5 hours at my place last week.

all bikes would be lovely if we left them in the showrooms - this bike desperately needs another 20k on it.

I am lucky cos I ride S o F in the Corbiere mountains - just 10 miles away - and down to the Spanish border - retired and concentrating on piling on the miles.

This morning with Tramontane wind blowing 30 / 40 from NW and at 1/2 degrees C nice route thru the twisties and back home to find out how Ian had got on with Peter for thye bike transfer.

He said Peter was very quiet on the way back home to Sale - pretty sad at seeing the back of the SV.

I know Ian is over the top with the bike and it will get the TLC it deserves.

You guys should get down here in the summer - it is bloody magic - and I can sort out a bit of yachting down at Roses if that appeals.

The Corbieres run from the Atlantic to the Med separating France from Spain. The Alps are S E straddling France / Italy/Switz.

It would have been more correct if I had said the Corbieres are part of the Pyrenees and the Corbieres are at the easterm Med part of that mountain range.

Roses is a Spanish resort just over the Spanish / French border to the south of Perpignan. My friend has a ketch which he crews for holiday makers in Roses and will from next summer be doing split holidays with peoplle doing maybe - part yachting, walking, cycloing biling etc.

He would welcome people to the yacht for 1 week and includes tuition, grub, booze etc. This combined with some bike riding in the mountains could be OK for some peoplke.

Rare to find combination hol with say mbiking/yachting

Had a great family holiday based in Argeles a few years back. I'd really like to return on a bike. Any of you who can get the time and money together, it would be fantastic mountains twisties and a very nice coastline - Argeles is just inside France, but the Spanish side of the border is even better.
