As much as I dislike cats, its always hard to lose a pet...sorry to read about this. Hope you're okay.

Very sorry to hear this, though if I had to choose I'd say I was a dog person, but I have some really characters of cats as pets throughout my life so far and know how thay can leave a large hole in your life.
Though it was a harsh thing to view - at least you know what happened and are spared the days/weeks/months of him missing with his fate unknown. Small comfort I know, but at a time like this you take all you can get.
