on a curvy the its that seem to suffer the most in the winter are the forks, all the brake callipers... I use my own acf50 and can't coat the bits that suffer the most...

I think I'll be up for this, I use my FS365 but getting a pro job done would be even nicer as it means my SV will not just sit and corrode over the winter while I'm indoors dying of pork flu.

so lemme get this straight......
your gonna pay, 50 whole English pounds for a man in overalls to pop round and do something thats pretty much a DIY job? seriously, buy some in the bottle (with the pump-spray can) about £30-ish and will last ya several coats/coupla years. apply with a brush everywhere 'cept on ya brakes and tyres and use the spray can to get in the little gaps! it wont hurt electrics and will just burn off ya pipes. if it aint exposed it dont need it. use protection when you ride! ![]() Amp |

ACF50 is an anti weathering / anti corrosion spray on product. Their own advertising bumf claims its the same product that the US Navy use on their aircraft when they are on a carier out at sea (how true that is god only knows) and if it protects those telephone number priced jets, its gotta be good for your bike. ive heard various reporst from peeps, ranging from how great it was to how poor it was. Most reports say its hard to clean off again as it sticks very well. I've never used it myself but the SV does suffer in the bad weather, especially once the salt goes down as that cakes the engine etc and then dries off due to the heat and lets the salt get to work eating all the things that road salt finds yummy, which is basically mosy of your SV. I sure as heck wouldnt pay anyone £50 to come and apply it for me but if it gives the OP confidence that someone who knows their thang has done it and hopfully done it well, then hey its his money and he can spend it how he likes of course. HTH
