Dear Mr Bunker, Thank you for your email, We do not recommend wiring this type of switch to the ignition. This is due to not enough voltage being received. We have a brand new switch recently available to purchase, the price is £34.78 plus VAT. The new switch has the ability to be wired into the battery or ignition. Please find attached an instruction manual for the new switch. As a gesture of goodwill we would be happy to offer you the new switch for £15.00, this will include postage and packaging. We look forward to your reply. Yours faithfully, Customer Services At least they are suggesting another option. I'll try wiring to the battery and get back to them when I get chance. Nick |

*****s! Why do you and alpine star hero get the good will gesture of £15 and they've offered it me for £16.50?
![]() Cheers for posting that bunks, can you just clarify which type of switch they didn't recommend wiring into the ignition? And which they've offered to supply you (infact that might be the cause of the price difference)

Oops sorry I've just had a look through my emails and they actually quoted the part number. The one they're offering me for £16.19 is this unit http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk...ssories/Oxford

I don't think thats the one they're offering me??? It's this one. They also sent me the instructions, it has a seperate control box which has to be hidden away in the bike. Nick |

If you connect the hotgrips to a relay-controlled distribution block, you won't have any of these problems.
