Yes very thankful Ed.
I didn't want to repost and make it look like a shameless bump! She says thanks for the advice too. (to everyone) |

I belive that the scenario you have above is what was taught until the 90's , and still applies on roundabouts where you approach as a single carrigeway ( even if it splits to 2 at the roundabout) going onto a single carrageway, or a single going onto dual or a dual going onto a single, The problem happened post 90's where extra rules brought in say if its dual onto dual then either lane is usable regardless of weather the junction is past 180 degrees or not (as in coming off a motorway and taking the 3rd junction onto a dual carrageway , which is at 270 degrees from the entry point onto the roundabout) We have a lot of these in Cardiff and they can be fuggin dangerous they are fine as long as the car in the left lane says in the left lane and goes round the roundabout and down the left lane and the car in the right lane does the same, but what tends to happen is that you get a lorry in the left wanting to go further round than the car in the right lane and casues all sorts of ****, or someone following the above rules and trying to get into the left lane after 180 degrees with no space. |
