Careful with the ibuprofen based stuff. It can burn your guts, still that takes your mind off the toothache. Personally I find rinsing the tooth every 2 minutes with a good slug of scotch works very well

As above but you may combine 1 ibuprofen + 1 paracetamol at the same time as they are more effective taken toghether.
Most dentists see you the same day if you are in pain. They keep empty slots for emergencies all the time. Worth calling them again and tell them the pain is unbearable and I'm sure they will see you the same day. Until you clean the tooth and cover that exposed nerve, no medicine will offer you too much relief. |

Swallow every time
![]() I used to have to go to the pub the night before an appointment. Just to make sure my dentist had sufficient to stop his hands shaking.

Get it sorted. If its open, then it risks infection, and I can assure you from experience, an abcess under your tooth really isn't something you want to go through.
I feel the pain, i've had my teeth clean recently, and my gums are verys roe still 1 week after. Bleeds when i bursh etc. Ulcers lining the tounge, its a real nasty thing at the moment. Hopefully it'll sort itself soon, but at the time, owchy.. Teeth look shiney though ![]() |

If you cant get anywhere with an emergency appointment with your dentist then I reccomend that you go to A&E. You may be luck and get to a hospital dentist, if you pick your time right (say about 8am).
