I don't like the fact that everything science related is now presented by Hammond and everything history related is now presented by May but I still think the program was good.

Makes me think though, if there is so much practically limitless energy stored up under the surface why are we spending billions messing about trying to find the last few drops of oil. Surely all we need to do is drill a hole 50 miles deep into the mantle and stick a big turbine on top of it.

Was a good show, Hammand doesn't look good with long hair though, and since the crash he always has bags under his eyes, good bloke though, met him when the top gear lot came out to Afghanistan.

Geothermal is a good idea, though there is the toxic content of some of the stuff you might bring up from underground in the process.

I've seen a few sci fi stories where a huge thermal plant has a malfunction and the uncontrolled venting of gas causes rapid heating of the atmosphere.
