nice one jay, are you or have been, on the newcomers weekend, ? first thing thing we were told , nearly all the bends are very very very late apexes, even round the back of the corner in the case of the exit of kirkmicheal , take note of all the differing scrutineering points, , and use all nylocks, and when your in the paddock and the bike is prepped for the evening session , dont start ****in around with it, its prepped , go down the beach, come away from the paddock for a while, enjoy......rob

Maybe one day
![]() I'd love to even help someone out over there for the two weeks. Plus I'd need to save a fair amount of money to fund it. |

Hi Rob,
yeah I did the newcomers the other week. Late apex seems to be the main piece of advice given for over there. Only been over the once for the manx. Really looking forward to it. |

yep , standard road gearing , i think thats 15/44, its a compromise between top speed and still being able to pull up the mountaine mile on full fuel, top speed on my standard engined carby last year was a shade under 128mph , the timing beam is just as you peel right in the middle of sulby, 128mph dont sound that fast, until you have to put the bike 2 foot off the hedge on the apex, then its ****ing quick , u enterd this year ?

ok. from memory the regs want the axle spindle wiring, so i drilled the portion of the spindle the forms the nut flats, i think 2mm i used, plenty of lube on the drill bit and go steady, then pass the lockwire through and also through the drilled pinch polts, you will have a million and one questions about all this, phone me anytime. rob, 07922 014 533 ps an email will be sent to you when ur accepted, ( dont wory )

dont forget guys you can download the regs ect from the mgp website, its a realy good website with lots of contact numbers etc, anne in the office is very patient to, its fair to say that the scrutineering is to the letter, their job is to ensure you go out on a safe bike, NOT to stop you going out, on the website you will find the scrutinering notes and requirements very usefull, rob
