The DAX was his Dads mums bike that he brought back from the US for her due the cheap insurance premium, it joined the RD's in the garage when she stopped riding it.

Default OMO ID that bike!

The blue one is, as said above, a Dax (sold as the Dachshund in Japan, hence the Dax name) specifically that one is one of the most numerous variety; an ST70.
Also made with 50, 90 and 110cc engines, mechanically sharing much with the Cub range; C50/70/90 etc etc.

The blue one is a Honda CT70.
I have an orange one from 1970 (first year) in good running condition.
Parts are still available from Honda.

The 200s are fun. Not massively fast, but a good bike nevertheless
Had the 125 variant for quite a few years. Loved it. It's an RD200. DX models got cast wheels.
Would be quite tempted by another one tbh!

Thanks for the advice, should help make picking up parts easier.

Even easier if I can still get parts, that'll save some looking, cheers.

Well it's just going to be a toy bike for the summer, I still borrow my old CBF 125 with all its 11 horses which is fun to throw about but is a bit low on power, have been looking at the new 300's or there about with interest so I'm hoping this is what I've been looking for, plus I've never had the chance to ride a stroker so I feel this is going to be fun, especially as the bike is pretty much twice my age! Just a shame that I won't own them, but I still get to work on them and ride them.

Oops forgot to mention in the Honds you'll either have to use a lead substitute additive or change the valves.

Please explain to someone who is half the age of said bike?

The engine was made before unleaded petrol so won't run right on it. You can get additives to put into the tank to make it run right. Alternatively you replace the valves so they can handle unleaded, if you can find some that fit it?

This.
Easy way is to go to your local car parts store and buy some lead additive and add to petrol.
While it will run on unleaded it will ruin the vavles over time.
Fortunately the additive is cheap and one bottle should be enough for a year or more worth of riding.
