That tip on stitching the spare into one's jacket is a good one!

Right - VIN number - where do I get that? (I have all the documentation from Carnell, the dealership that bike came from originally)

There will be a black plate somewhere on the frame with the number on. On a k4 it's on the left hand side, not sure where it is on the old shape, though. On alot of bikes it's on the right near the headstock.

Should be in your owners manual book as well if its been wrote in.

if you can get the lock off the bike express keys in orpington can cut you a new one from the barrel

I have a number stamped on a small black plate which was supplied with the keys. According to the manual this is the key number and I can get replacements made from this.

Asked dad today and he said its not a problem if you've a spare (I know you don't) or not much bother if you've got the code. PM me your code. He's up for a challenge. Doubt a charge unless you want it sent recorded del.
