One thing to remember in this weather is to make sure that the screen isn't too cold before you start, seriously
With mine the screen needed a little bit of persuasion, just a small flex, to get it in properly, the first time I did it it was freezing and the screen cracked
Got it replaced, warmed the new one over a radiator and it flexed and fitted no problem.

*TIP*

Push the pistons right back into the calipers before you take the old pads out.

seized caliper - Pistons dont move in and out as supposed to
loctite (and what does it do) - Its a goo that locks threads of bots to stop them undoing by thierself
copper grease - Exactly what it says on the tin. A greese that is loaded with copper. Stops break squesl when applied to the rear of the pads, and also is an anti siezing compund when applied to anything you want to remove...bolts, pins etc.

i always thought that the sqealing noise came from the pads rubbing on the discs.

so how exactly does copper grease stop the noise ?
