Yeah, I crashed 3 times with the "old style" bungs and got away with minor scratches to the top fairing, smashed indicator and needing new brake levers.

Yeah, they suck.

The new design are probably sturdier, but the old ones aren't that bad.

Buy the JHS bungs.

Our bikes have tried them out 6 times now and on one occasion the old style bung unscrewed itself but that still worked enough to save any real damage to the bike.

Rest of the time they have done their job superbly.

They wont save everything but they certainly help!

I tried to order some (to fit a "curvy") from JHS a few weeks ago, unfortunately they didn't have any in stock and didn't know when they would get more!

Hmm, I'd heard JHS are getting out of the curvy business. Sid's right though, his bungs are ace.

I've used the GSG Moto Bobbins mushrooms 3 times and never had a problem, the only reason I have R&G is thats what the insurance stuck on there.
Once at 40mph, once 0mph as some woman reversed into my bike, and once at 10mph but bike fell 'down' a 30ish degree hill. Bike was ridable every time or only needed simple repairs to get it on the road (clutch/brake leaver).
