go early and hang around a bit - if ur lucky someone else will turn up on a bike and you can sort out the details - benefit both of you (or all of you if more than 1 turns up)

I wouldnt mind, I think its a good idea, we do it at work although the bloke who I work with isnt quite as bright as me :P and waited for me to come in the next day. when I showed him what to do he was amazed

He saw the funny side of it then :P

If it was me though I would ride around and find a lampost or a camera gantry to chain it to, there are plenty of places to fasten a chain, even a railing near the bus stop
