Does anyone use Simpson lids here?

They look the dogs dangleys.

Sell a kidney. Buy the lid. Frighten people. Nuff said.

Having said that, I know a girl who has the Nolan N84. She really likes it. (She leant my gf it and she liked it a lot too.) But, thats the only one on the list I have heard anything about at all.

At the top of your price range, you should be able to get a quality lid, rather than a 'budget' lid. My Shoei Raid is the first quality lid I've owned. I'd previously had cheaper lids and, believe me, it makes a difference. Mine's due for replacement and the only question is whether to go for a Raid 2 or an XR-1000.

You can get a Raid 2 for £179, which is almost certainly a better lid for your money than any on your list:

Cheers guys.

I almost went for the Schuberth as I have heard really good things about them. I think after reading what you have had to say, I'll wait a few month and go for a XR-1000. I want something light and quiet and I cant find enough reviews on the QM-1 to says if its quiet or not but it is very light 1350g.

Like I said I have a 6 month old Caberg but the fit is just not 100% it presses against my forehead on long rides, plus its 1870g so not the lightest hat I've ever had on.

I have a Schuberth Concept, and it's worth every penny
I tried the Caberg, and by comparison it felt really cheap/flimsy & was uncomfortable. The Schuberth was twice the price however, so I guess you pay your money & take your choice.

Try them all on before deciding

I have the xr1000 and it fits me perfectly and is very comfy and light. Has good ventilation too and great pinlock system

Simpson's are pretty cool! I noticed last year there was a stall at the Birmingham NEC show so i'll save my pennies and probably buy a bandit. I think the outlaw is better - like the smaller, fitted lense and those aerodynamic ripples - but they're not road legal. Still the Don!

Odd that Ed was concerned about the weight of his Shoei raid. The numbers mean nothing to me,the fit is perfect ,like a glove,(which is a pity when I wanted a helmet! :P ) I can't say that the weight of the Shoei feels a burden at all. In fact I am extremely pleased with it.
