Seems a consistent argument to me. Supporters of the national team, the so called Tartan Army, have pretty much consistently been guilty of nothing worse than poor dress sense, out of tune singing and over optimism. Over the past couple of decades the Tartan Army have won a number of awards for the good behaviour and conduct of their fans.

Sectarianism doesn't as a rule manifest itself in the form of football riots and hasn't done since the 70s / 80s. There is a 'casual' scene, but this is neither prolific nor sectarian. Sectarian events tend to be isolated incidents of thuggery.

Anyway, I don't work for the Scottish Executive nor the First Minister. Best mail him at Jack.Mcconnell.msp@scottish.parliament.uk if you want to take issue with him.

I bet if you asked the people that done this to name 5 of their nations team they probably couldn't.

It has nothing to do with football or being english/scottish and more to do with the fact that they know if caught they'll probably end up with nothing but a slap on the wrist and a measly fine. Where's the deterrent?
