Jabba

Normally I would do everything I possibly can myself, plumbing electrics etc are easy. But I wont touch gas. Daft as with the last boiler when the gas valve failed, I asked a corgi registered mate to install a new one. His reponse was you know what to do, how to do it, just get on with it, and I did, even down to checking the correct pressure etc.

My issue with gas has always been if it goes wrong, you get a big bang and no house.

I have learnt over the years that most "tradesmen" are really cowboys and the only way to ensure a job well done is to do it yourself.

Many years ago I had a knock on the door and the guy introduced himself as the owner of a car showroom nearby. He said that every day he passes the house he would admire the fencing as it was the only one that he had seen that was straight, all posts the same height etc. Could I tell him who had done it. Simple answer my father and I. Could we install a fence for him. With a certain ammount of pride I declined as it was a ball ache knackering job that we were determined to get right first time.
