How much dosh? Read up on cameras and the higher the ISO speed the better it'll do in low light, Anti shake helps as well in low light and an optical stabiliser does.... I have no idea.

Try www.steves-digicams.com . Usually good reviews in there.

Dunno for sure, but I guess for that amount you'll find yourself limited to plastic lens ones, such as Aiptek and the like.

Or try to find some clearout sales, last years end of stock, etc...

Go here to read comprehensive reviews of almost every decent digital camera ever made.
http://www.dpreview.com/

For the money, I would look for a second hand one, they change so fast now that a lot of people change from year to year.
5 Mega Pix will see you right, but 3 is still ok. Any less than 3 really isn't enough.

Good luck!

Eh, £150-£200 I reckon. Seems to get up into diminishing returns territory, these days.

Dan
I went with the Pentax K100D....brilliant in body shake reduction and excellent low light iso capabilities. The soon to come out K10D will pi## all over the Canon 400D which itself hardly improves on the 350D which i returned soon as i got it for many reasons. Take a look at dpreview.com forums and see what the K10D has to offer and why it is kicking up such a storm. Also have a look at the K100D too....has a great viewfinder and i am real happy with it. However if the 400D floats your boat...good luck with that

I know you said no eBay but have a look at this one:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OLYMPUS-CAMEDI...QQcmdZViewItem

I had this camera before and it's great. Long battery life, good quality pics, cheap memory.

Or any 2 megapixel camera with optical zoom

you don't need to spend more than ~£30.

You will never need more than 2 mega pixel for private use.

(This is coming from a guy owning a £500 7 Megapixel camera... You learn by the mistakes you make in life )
