That's the newer 636 rear shock, the Showa one, if the years are right (I don't know what they look like ) Very little info on fitting those into SVs, spring rates, etc- but it's a better shock than the old one that most people use. I'd get it and try it, if all else fails you can maybe flog it to scooby drew

Looking at a wheel for the conversion at the moment. Ive noticed that the front whels are the same size except for the differnt tyre profiles. (SV being 120/60 Z17) (GSXR being 120/70 Z17). My question is would fitting a 60 profile tyre off my SV affect the handling once the front end is completed? I.E. slowing down the steering???? ATB.

Speeds it up in fact, all other things being equal... Too much IMO, the GSXR front's already shorter, 120/60 loses you another 12mm or so off the front height and changes the geometry even more. SVRAsh runs a 120/60 I think, but he's also got a damper fitted

I doubt it'd be the end of the world, but I wouldn't do it myself.

Cool, cheers mate I knew I could rely on you. :P Looks like i'll have to fork out for a new front tyre then, never mind though the one on the SV has only covered a few hundred miles. ill frlog it on e-bay.

Welll... If it's that new, it's probably worth trying. But then you get into swapping tyres, which will usually cost you money as well as hassle. If you have to pay a tenner for each tyre fitting, then it'll add up.

But if you sell the wheel with tyre fitted you might get some value for the new tyre.

I got my tyre for free though - (that's probably what it's worth).

There's no "wobbling hand in air" smiley... I think you maybe get more with the tyre seperate. People tend to have their favourite brands, so it might not add that much value. I only got maybe £25 more for my SV front with a good Roadtec on than I would have expected for the wheel.

Could go either way, though, especially on Ebay.
