I'm sad to say that it's Pete..................in the days before me I hasten to add

The car had just won the wooden spoon for being the worst car there with an MOT

I used to have a TR6.It was bright yellow and a brilliant car.Lovely torkey engine that made all the right noises, very direct steering and a slightly loose rear end for extra cornering fun.Had a seat belt in the back so the boy could travel when he was small(totally illegal now I assume)and used it as my everyday car for many years.I sold it when they were going to abolish leaded fuel,as I needed something with four seats and fuel injection Triumphs were going to be tricky to convert for unleaded.I can thoroughly recomend one to anyone who likes classic motoring. So much better than the MGB.

New fuel pumps cured the unleaded fuel problem I think Biggles. Did your pump used to regularly overheat on hot days. Pack of frozen peas to cool it down. Happy carefree days.

It's the PI metering unit that couldn't deal with unleaded, and possibly the injectors too,but you can get new ones now that run fine on modern petrol(even the stuff with silicone in it ).Mine used to run fine in hot weather, but I had a Bosch fuel pump shoving fuel in at a constant 105PSI.It was very thirsty in traffic(18MPG)but out of town it would often do 30MPG.
