yeah mine has the remote start, pretty cool but not that useful. i was advised that immobilisers can go balls up at times, and so i am led to believe it wasnt fitted. so that shouldnt be a problem.

which means that if i take out the old battery and stick a new one in it should be fine? would the alarm need to be reset or anything? if so how would i go about doing this

also how do i take the battery out? i know how to get to it, all this damned charging ive been doing. But as to how to remove it...

thanks guys

Just undo the cables, earth first, then push the cables out of the way and lift it out

If you still have problems after a battery change then I would suggest looking at the relay for the immobiliser.

It isnt supplied with the kit. I mad sure I bought a good quality relay as it is going to be energised all the time the bike is running. A poor quality relay could stay energised even when you want it off hence draining the battery.

A way to check would be to immobilise the bike via the key fob, then try to start the bike, if it starts then you have a faulty relay OR it has been fitted incorrectly.

Good luck !!

would that make any difference seeing as if the immobiliser was not fitted at all?

Its an intergral part of the "box" but can be wired without it. If its installed as just the alarm then no, it wont make a difference. The alarm only draws a tiny amount of current when armed and shouldn't drain a battery very quickly at all. Check to see that all loose wiring end are isolated and taped off so there is no chance of a short circuit.

yeah the immobiliser wasnt fitted

I'm fairly sure the battery is on the way out, when it was fitted it had to keep going on charge when setting it all up and testing and the like

thanks, i will have a proper look around the wiring tomorrow, will still be buying a battery for it anyway, its been abit of a pain, but luckily i havent needed the bike urgently
