I've got a Virgin voucher to do this sort of thing in Wales. Not used it yet but will be booking it soon. I'll let you know whereabouts, would be nice to do some off roading with other orgers.

Fantastic! if one work can summarise.
The weather was beautiful. We had a large puddle with a sheet of ice on it that was half an inch thick, the sun was shining but that was in a shade so it wasn't melting, we just cracked it to bits.

We were taught the correct position on the bike, braking with the back brake, front brake and both.
Picking the bike up. Fat chance towards the end of the day, especially if you are going up hill and don't make it to the top. I was so knackered that I could hardly stand. We were all helping each other to recover the bikes tho.
my final crash was on a vertical climb (it did not look that vertical to start with). I got over the top, but did not put my front down quick enough and went down. which was rather funny (to me anyway) but I did not attempt that again, was too tired. Sally left her mark on a tree, I'll leave her to give you the details.

I have an amber helmet, Sally has a silver one.

Today I'm aching all over, and I'm fairly fit, but obviously not in this discpline.

It truly was a fantastic day! Although I've been off roading before I learnt more with this day than ever before. I highly recommend Track Sense for this type of thing.

MMM yes the tree - well It was only a small sliver birch no more than 15cm in girth, so you could say it took quite a lot of skill to hit it like that. Anyway wasn't too bad really and thank goodness for those super hard off road boots. I've only got a blue and black foot where it could easily have been much worse.

So I ache everywhere today and now I know I'm really getting old cos I make an involuntary groan every time I go to get out of a chair.

But HUGE fun. Go and do it, if only to find out what to do when you lock up the front wheel on the brake, on or off road.

Oh yeah one thing - I found out Mon has no fear AT ALL! She saw a mound 10-15 ft high and thought 'I know, I'll jump that'. Well she jumped it OK but didn't land quite at the same time as the bike. No damage done tho. Oh yes, she was trying to learn how to wheelie as well !!!
