A roads 'n' twisties, won't say the pace there are rozzers on this forum(but very steady when my eldest son 8 is pillion)
Stop for a fag + brew here & there.
Setting off in the dry then getting caught in a downpour, also when a mate of ours decides to take us on crappy little back roads full of pot holes & loose gravel..(.if i want to ride those roads i'll get a supermoto)

Nothing wrong with tootling along at 80mph. I'm not a vicious evil rider, i'm happy to sit behind a tractor at 20mph if there's decent enough views to look at

organising should be left to the organisers. It is also helpfull if a few people know the route should "said"organiser fail to show

Thing is I just tend to find good stretches of road and then try and link them all together, sometimes this makes for a challenging route, but on the sections I know that are going to be tricky I point them out in advance or I'll have a re-group before a tricky section and remind peeps that it may be a bit more technical ( zigzag hill eyh Mogs )

I think as long as you're up front about your route, then people have been pre-warned and then its rider beware as far as I'm concerned. One thing I dont like on big rideouts is excessive speed, the other thing that annoys me is people riding right up my chuff when they nor I know the road...

+ People to share the memories/funny stories with afterwards.
+ Friendly banter at rest stops.
+ Nice to put faces to names (from the forum).
+ Chance to see other people's bikes/mods in the flesh.
+ Opportunity to see other riding styles/learn from better riders.
+ The noise.
- Overly slow pace due to no provision for different speed groups. It's dangerous to expect people to ride faster than they feel able to, but at the same time it's a bit boring when significant numbers of people can't/won't do the speed limit when it's perfectly safe to do so, especially on motorways/dual carriageways.
- People making dangerous overtakes (and undertakes)
- People who don't ride with adequate spacing (two abreast at a walking pace round town is fine, but not so fun at 80mph when you don't know/implicitly trust the other person)
- Failure to understand/comply with the drop off system.
- Lack of consideration for getting the greatest number of people through a set of lights or past a car, not moving in to the left after an overtake, etc.

Umm forgot that , I’ve got another dislike

Messing up a corner in front of all your mates, ending up on the wrong side of the road, staring at oncoming headlights, in 4th gear and no momentum.

I’ve not been on a Ride-Out I haven’t enjoyed .

This thread is just making even more impatient to get my bike and to start doing things like this. Even the bad bits sound like more fun than staying in on a Sunday.

My ideal ride uses up 130 miles worth of fuel, takes in sweeping a-roads and tighter, would have some straight bits for some throttle abuse. Preferably in stunning scenery, and on roads which has as much up and down as they do side to side.

Would like a stop halfway through for something to eat, a wee and a stretch of my legs.
