For this reason I now wouldn't move anywhere that didn't have a garage/off road parking. I used to garage it across town when I lived in a flat, but I ended up not using the bike as much. An Almax IV and an anti-pinch pin round a lampost and a cover over the top sounds your best bet. I'd consider a disc lock alarm too. Stay on the right side of the neighbours and make an effort to get to know them. Their eyes and ears are invaluable. As an aside, which bit of Cardiff are you in?

Ah yes, that's a bugger you do. If you found the right van (obviously the on I posted was just a random example found in 1 min) you could find one with MOT just about to expire but enough to buy your first year of TAX.
But another thought was an enclosed trailer - probably more expensive to buy but not tax, MOT or insurance to worry about.

Dont forget a wheel clamp... Or you may as well just leave the bike with the keys in the ignition!

I was thinking just remove both wheels, easier to get the bike in & out, But you'll need to beef up the locks & still chain the bike up inside to a structural part of the trailer.

Why move there in the 1st place if its that bad. My bike is parked 'effectivly' in the street. It also used to be parked in my fornt garden when i lived at home, and that was easy enough to walk in and take it.

Option one - don't move

Option two - don't buy the bike

Option three - buy the bike and move somewhere nice...

In all seriousness, I wouldn't leave anything of value, chained up or otherwise, on the street anywhere around Manchester...
