I think I wired mine to a bendy pipe clip. Take a look on the bike and find something nearby that is fixed. Then drill a small hole to the top corners of the oil filler cap for wiring. You'll be removing and re-wiring fairly regularly anyway due to checking/filling oil level.

You're right on the engine performance, just make sure its all in good nick, valve clearances are correct, plugs are in good nick and gapped correctly etc. Initially at least, handling is where the improvements in lap time can be gained. In addition to your own capability improving of course

If you can spend money anywhere, do it on suspension and tyres. You may also want to consider a set of rear sets and perhaps a race pipe for ground clearance.

Beauty I shall have a look. Good job I can get hold of alot of wire locking

That's the main problem is self confidence thru corners. I know I can be quick in corners on the road as I love throwing the sv about. People always mention that but I'm sure I will look pretty slow on the track lol.

doesnt matter how fast you are on the road, there'll be somebody going around the outside of you and showering you with sparks through the corners on a race weekend

Plenty of practice and the speed and confidence will come.

This
One tip I was given when looked at doing it, was first race ask to start back of the grid. Most clubs will allow you to start at the back if your on the vest

Buy cheap curvy, hack off nonessentials. Lockwire to taste.

Fit cheapest/easiest catch tank bellypan going.
Fit set of scrubs, acquire some wets.

There will be someone to have a do with even if it isn't the bee's knees most competitive one out there you'll still be racing someone.

I thought that would be the case . But a good sight I bet.

Is the curvy a preferred choice?

Totally depends on your preference, personally I wanted the fuel injected model to race with, barely any noticeable performance difference between them though.

Cool. Think I'll stick to my guns and stick with the pointy.

Let us know how it all goes mate. I'm having to sell my track SV as I'm skint and couldn't afford to do track days never mind race. Hopefully I'll be in a better position in about 18 months and can afford a track toy.
Good luck!
