I've always wanted a Harris Hawk, fell in love with them as a kid, and always wanted to be a falconer, but never had the chance

if it's outside your office window , it is perhaps being used to scare away other bird's
a common practice and easily obtained if one pays for the service. our factory (food production) hires a firm on a regular basis to fly their birds of prey in the grounds. not uncommon really ![]() |

Been to the Ligh****er Bird of Prey Centre that's not far from there. Did the 1 hour experience loved it so next time I'm up going to do the full day.
Parents have got a cottage in Harmby which I can borrow so makes for nice weekend breaks |

Well shes still out there. The guy who came to catch him has had no look so went home last night, and was back at the crack of dawn this morning.
The Hawk is beautiful, and all of us in the firm have become quite attached to her, when shes gone we're going to miss the sight of her. All the pigeons and magpies and seaguls are going mental though, their "pad" so to speak has been taken over by this BoP.. fantastic! Also a collegue downstairs was quite fond of a squirral that used to eat nuts out of his hands.. but the squirral hasnt been seen since the hawk showed up on the scene... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Just got shouted outside by the guy who came to catch the bird. Went out and bingo.. she had finally been baited. Bird was stood there on his falconers glove, teathered to him.
She looked even more special up close. Its strange, now she's gone.. im missing her. Loads of pigeons and seagulls around this area and dont give them a second thought, but there was something special about this Hawk. Felt a bond with her. Hope she goes to a good home. ![]() |
