Spade and wooden doorstep (hold onto the door frame to keep balance and ‘bounce’ all your weight on the spade … works every time ).

I used to get them back on the bead by spraying brake cleaner in and igniting it … the ensuing explosion seats the tyre nicely … but I have to say after a couple of heart attacks and singed eyebrows , I now just use a double piston pump

Heh, I've done that as part of fixing a puncture on a landrover. Quite fun to watch the owner's face

Prices to fit partworn tires to the bike vary a bit.

FWR - £38~
Essential Rubber - £25 each wheel
Chaz - £15

I would take to chaz but their wheel balancer is stuffed, Essential Rubber are just taking the pee & FWR can never make their mind up on how much to charge people.

By ‘turning’ the partworn tyre, you get to use the virtually unworn LHS (as it is now the RHS) so it is like having a new tyre on a predominately RH turn track.

“Is it safe” I hear you cry?!!? Not for me to say, but one thing I will say is that it is quite common for the less well funded racers to turn tyres and lets face it on track is where they get stressed the most, draw your own conclusions. Also the tread pattern on the supercorsa looks symmetrical to me.
the tread pattern may be the same each way, but I'd bet good money that the carcass construction ain't

I wouldn’t like to say for sure if the caucus is directional*, however it is common practice to turn them and I have never heard of anyone having a problem when doing so, and like I said we are taking about being used under track/race conditions here!!

*but I don’t think the Pirellis are.

Get Chaz to change them if you don’t want to do that bit, but you can balance them yourself in the manner I described above.
