Yes man get yourself some ACF-50 anti-corrosion formula if it's good enough for Mr Boeing it's good enough for me...this stuff is seriously good. Use a paintbrush to apply in those hard to reach areas. It's the first thing I did when I picked up my baby

Default winter

I ride all year round, but not the SV. Have an old 200cc Honda, which is great when the weather is really bad! Went to Scarborough and back on it on Sunday, approx 150 mile trip!

Been out a couple of times since buying my bike, only when no rain and roads are relatively dry. I think if my car was off the road I might take the bike to work, but wouldn't do it on a regular basis.

Bought the bike for pleasure riding, car is for commuting

past couple of days has been pretty 'interesting' on the bike uber fog, slippy roads, near freezing temperatures and constantly having to remind myself that i DON'T have the grip levels i normally do.

Yes, in Monday's freezing fog I ended up riding with my visor open, at about 25-30mph (on NSL road) and I was getting ice forming on my face.

T'is similar around these parts.

This morning got off the bike to see the start of ice forming on the swingarm. Not nice.

Also, sat at traffic lights, temperature was reading a nice 86C, but was steadily DROPPING

Does it stop me using the bike? Not on your whatsit! But the speed is staying down, and I'm keeping an eye out for anything that even resembles off colour tarmac.

I live at the bottom of a hill that does not get gritted. It has been known for me to use the side of the kerb to find enough traction to get to the top of the hill. I actually think it's quite fun.

I'll ride in pretty much every weather except snow or heavy fog. Snow is bad as it settles on your visor meaning that you have to wipe it off every few seconds or stop being able to see. If you open your visor it settles in your eyes, which is worse. Plus the end of my road doesn't get gritted and I've dropped a bike there in snow before.

I also agree with everything that Northwind says about ACF50.

He he! I used to live on top of a hill that wasn't gritted, but had never considered this. I take it you effectively "kerb" the wheel of the bike so the tread grips the road and the sidewall touches the kerb?
