Well, a few weeks have passed and the chillis are now in bigger pots, some are out in the greenhouse.
These are the Bih Jolokia, Numex Orange and Chinese Pot, all need more heat. ![]() and the ones in the greenhouse ![]() ![]() and for scale, and bragging rights, my biggest is an Early Jalapeno! ![]() although my fave plant this week has been the banana, no need for a sunshade, just sip beer in the shade of this beauty! ![]()

Ah - you grow Triffids too!!
I'll post a pic of mine shortly- narrowed the crop down to two pots now- 9" each so they have plenty of room to grow out. Will spend the weekend in the sunshine. Lovely! |

Chilis are doing really well, I've just potted them up into their final 10 inch high pots. Some of the Pasilla Bajio and early Jalapeno have flowers just starting.

Here's mine. They're about 14cm to the top of the stem, with the leaves extended above.

Hi everyone. I have been growing some chillies and am intreged with smoking them. One plant is currently in flower and the others are a few weeks behind. I have access to a large smoker (my dad makes his own jerky) once smoked are they eddable as they are or are they for use in cooking. Presumably they are not for roling with some backie and getting high???

Smoked chilis make "chipotle" which can be used as the basis for a really, really superb sauce. I buy this stuff.
If all goes to plan, I will be smoking the early Jalapenos and some Pasilla Bajio which are long, black and have a natural smoke flavour. There should be so many chilies on the 35 or so plants I have that I may even be able to dry some and offer them on here for a reasonable offer!
