I would suggest disappearing off for a bike holiday into the Alps and into Italy.

I'd agree there. It makes biking interesting again

I hate bikes every now and then. Usually its the top of my agenda. Usually i fall out and get frustrated with bikes when they don't work....like now, spending a fortune on her and she still refuses to play ball....makes you want to take a large hammer to it!!

And the weather makes you depressed. Wha you need is a good sunny spell and all will ba at one with bike again!!

I'm not very satisified with mine at the mo. Ok the black Sv works and does its job....but I don't want to ride that one....I want the other...can someone wave a magic wand in this direction please

I've not been out much. After I dropped the bike a month ago I haven't used it as was getting fairing reprayed etc and hadn't had time to pick it up. Haven't missed having th bike at all. I wouldn't worry about it, my interests change about, I know I'll fancy a track day again soon.

Go to Nurburgring on a training day, it will kick start the interest again

Ok, I am not after new hobbies or things to fill my time (have plenty of them already ), so not looking for alternatives, just its a bit sad I am loosing interest completely in bikes (after all this time).

I went on that .org French trip/rideout about 6 weeks ago ... although were it was all done in 1 day, it was really tiring (the Pompy to euro tunnel and back bit was the killer!!) it was still a great day out ... I'd go again, but then I'd do the same thing if it were in a car to be honest ... it was the scenery/company/unity that was the important thing, not the fact I was on a bike ...

Ok, so like relationships, its prolly better to just step back for a bit rather than force the issue ... the latter will only end in resentment!! ... so that is it ... bikes and me are official 'on a break'!!

Jayneflakes - although I'd like to have a go at trad climbing, I still have a lot of fun sport climbing, I don't feel I have done enough sport climbing to need to take the next level yet. If you came to Portaland, you can always 'trad' a bit next to my sport climb and we could race each other up*!!

*To stand a chance, I'll have to make sure your climb is significantly harder by the sounds as you are much more experienced climber than I

It seems to me you just talk about the bike itself, not at all about the social side which to some people is more important. Rallies, meeting new people, going to bike shows things like that. I've come to the conclusion that ride-outs are fine and ok but I'd rather ride my bike to go and see bikerfriends.

The thing I like about ride-outs is getting to know the people (better) so we always go to a pub for a chat afterwards. Also I like small groups not big groups/forums where the people that turn up change all the time. Rather like to get to know a small group of people. You could join groups, clubs, set one up yourself. I don't know about your personal situation but a gf who is a biker could make a difference.
