No, solution is black coffee! Milk, urrghh, it'll spoil the coffee. And instant is cack, proper coffee is what you have.
I won't allow instant in the house.

I don't reckon boiling water harms instant coffee one bean (pun intended), but AFAIK you can spoil proper coffee using boiling water. I mentioned the fact that my new coffee machine never makes really hot coffee to someone and then it all made sense.

so what about the ppl that drink black coffee... are they always drinking 'burnt' coffee..

the only reason i dont put milk in before the hot water is. i watched a documentary about mrs thatcher one of our much loved prim ministers.. and she always puts her milk in first.. i hated thatcher and still do.

and yes it does taste different either way. or is it just a placebo effect. much like tea in a china cup or earthenware mug.

I think you tend to put more milk in if you put it in first as there's no colour change.
