Holy Sh!! Lloydy , somebody was looking out for you once you realised it was going to go breasts up . Neck is hurting probably more from the impact of hitting the deck , dead weight of the head suddenly jarring once the body has hit the floor . It can feel a lot worse than breaking a bone in the long run . It`ll be plenty of rotating your body around via the feet to talk to people for a week rather than turning the neck .
Welcome to the club by the way , any accident you walk away from is a good one , there is only one I never walked away from and that involved a month in intensive care . Bikewise I would get a load of mates to bully the bike into the back of the van , nice thick plank to hoik the back wheel up or a scaffold bar as suggested , ask the hire company if they have any ratchet tie downs to secure her to the van once in , failing that they have been selling sets of these in Lidls for about £8 . |

That they were, and a lot of friendly bikers were out that eve as well, stopping to ask if I was ok. Also the car driver that helped me dragged the bike to the side, as they narf certainly weigh some when on the floor lying wounded.
Although the recovery truck driver wasn't as nimble using the electric hoist to drag her up his ramp...I bet he added to the fairing damage. ![]() Well I'd like to think it was my 1st & last, but I doubt that very much especially as I can't wait to get back on the bike, or failing that a replacement. The worst part about it all, is the thought of having to commute into London by train again. What a nightmare that is - I was glad to see the back of that when I got the bike. Well, I'm hoping the "young lady" is just a little bit battered up, seeing as Mr DavePreston informs me that the curvys are quite indestructable. So hopefully, a few upgrades will see her back on the road again very soon. If not, I'll be dismantling her and selling the parts on ![]() |

SLloyd "No River Island!" That's why your neck hurts mate all the laughing about the above comment in the car on the way home.......it certainly had me chuckling whilst trying to navigate round elmers end and shortlands. I think given the clothes you were wearing, the speed you were doing, the corner and the nature of the accident and damage you are extremely lucky, the bike is just a piece of metal and plastic. You lived to tell the tale and show off the gayist bike injury ever. Very lucky. I'm about today with a bit of notice if you need a hand, just txt me. |

Take it from me jeans are a bad idea, I'm paying the price at the moment with a humongous (sp) knee and ankle, I can walk and everything but Summer seems out for me, I have no chance of getting on the golf course, playing football and more so, I still can't ride (when have I ever been able to
![]() ![]() Good effort on the forks and wheel. As said, bikes can be mended, sometimes you can't. |

quote] Just had the guys from the recovery services give me a shocker on the cost of recovery. £260 ![]() So, just calling up my car mechanic to see if he knows someone with a van/truck in order to get it back at a reasonable cost. otherwise, I'll have to see if I can hire a transit at short notice - and some muscle. |

yeah never let anyone else recover it unless the accident aint your fault. Luckily when I had a crash a passing man of christ ran over and prayed for me...he also had a trailer for somereason and recovered the bike for me!!
Moral of the story, where possible crash in a posh area with a comical 'jesus is my airbag' sticker on your bike .

Well at least the pain of the cashendectomy wil mask the pain of the bruises....
Any off you walk away from is a good one (If any can be said to be good). Heres hoping you can get back on the road soon.

Glad that you are reasonably ok. As everyone else has said, the bike can be replaced or repaired, you can't. I have got a pair of forks - one is slightly bent, but they are yours if you need them matey, you just need to pay the postage, just PM me

Mate I had a off in exactly the same spot last year. I did exactly the same as you and know how you feel. That slip is is awful with no signs it nearly a complete 360 off the motorway! Its a really dangerous I was lucky only needed LHS pegs and a new front wheel (Silver curvy too!).
Hope you mend quickly mate and glad it wasn't worse, Something i noticed while standing round waiting for recovery is the lorry's and cars hit that at 70! Could have been so much worse! Quote:
