I'm intrigued. Why do you want to go flashless? because you want to be too far away from your subject?

No not really, in fact I had my new smart flash in the bag, flash photography has a time and place, but gives predictable results which can look rather flat and stark, not to mention how intrusive it can be.

I do prefer the judgement call of setting the camera for my interpretation, as said can be a bit more hit and miss, but you can also achieve much better pictures.

No worries hun, the camera wasn't setup for any easy shots, next time I'll let you have a go with the big flash, that makes it much easier to get good results.

Cheers Mark.

I'm with mark on the flashless pics front. I find the flash when taking pics of peeps makes them look flat and bland and mutes out or exagerates their features. I much prefer taking pics without flash or at the very least covering most of the flash with my finger, a technique which is very hit and miss tho tbh.

I'll be there next week loonypot

I was greeted by this when I got home.

It's not my house, but it is just a few yards down the road from us. It was amazing just how many people and how much equipment was involved.

I'm sure all the water pumped all over the road which then froze made riding up there a little tricky. I got the bike out of the garage yesterday, then realised just how slippery my road was so put it away again and took the car. I know I am a complete wimp, but it would be just my luck to slip over in my ungritted cul-de-sac and break a leg just before Thailand.
