So how did it feel?

I had to filter the entire stretch of my section of the M25 today, bloody rover had blown its load all over the fast lane. Was quite entertaining when I pinned it and felt that sideways movement

Muuuust find some decent country roads to work, rear is getting signs of tabletopping

It was good . Past about 50 boxes
I did have my road work type fluo vest on so they could see me . Better than a head light on its own .

I'm doing regular trips into Battersea at the moment on the bike and find myself filtering down the M11, A406, A13, Aspen Way, Limehouse link, Highway, Embankment, down to Battersea Bridge. It only takes me 1.5 hours from Dunmow to Battersea, but it is knackering!
I have to say that the only people who have nearly taken me out are other bikers behaving like absolute muppets.
Mac, I don't agree with your suggestion about full beams; if people don't look it doesn't matter what you do. Stick your full beams on and you'll just annoy all those who do look. It annoys the hell out of me when I'm in my car because I can no longer see out of one of my mirrors.

THATS BECAUSE YOUR HEADLIGHTS ARE SET TO HIGH

Anything I can do for people to be aware OF MY PRESENCE and keep me safer I will do,yes it is not good riding etiquette but I am not behind them and only being momentarily in there mirrors while I overtake. Most of them do not look in their mirrors in the first place so if I upset somebody who is a good driver travelling at 20mph for a few seconds so be it.
I only do it while centre filtering and joking apart my headlights aren't very bright and set lower than the norm, plus I am only talking daytime filtering --NOT NIGHT

Would you not be better doing Tower/London Bridge, Elephant and Castle, Vauxhall, Battersea?

Here's a nice filtering vlog published at the end of last week that discusses and demonstrates most of what's said:

Putting your full beam on is just stupid, people will be able to judge your speed ever less if they are being blinded in their mirrors.

Dipped beam is good enough, just anticipate what others are going to do and it will be fine.

I agree when at night....one thing I can't stand is when other motorists have full beams on when passing me, it does leave you temporarily blind sometimes...it's just asking for trouble IMHO! Would it make much difference during the daytime though?

Hazards through stationary traffic aint such a bad idea though would they....never done it myself though as I've never been filtering for long....might be a good idea if there is a hold up on a main motorway route for a few miles...

Makes no difference IMHO, when I see someone during the day with their main beam on i just think 'look at this *****'... Harsh but true.

Hazards do little else either, and in some cases, stupid drivers may even this he has stopped and broken down... I have filtered in heavy traffic before and occasionally blipped the throttle (with a loud-ish exhaust) and people attempt to move out of the way, although they dont need to, they still do, which means they know I'm there and they have seen me.
