Copper actually commented on my vision, shoulder checks and general riding and was suprised I hadn't seen him. My answer was my mirrors were shaking so I could only make out objects, not see what vehicle they were. All-in-all, it was a hoofing let off in my book, only helped by the fact I had been going so slow when they first clocked me pulling an undertake on a que of traffic!

What a effin bore that course is though! With the price of the course, the fuel to get there and back and the loss of a days holiday, I wish I'd taken the points! LOL

Regards
Couple of years ago camera caught me at 36 in a 30 I had no points so I gave the course a miss for the same reasons.

Well 45 in a 30 is 50% over the limit!

Look at it another way, it's 30 for a reason. If you are in a Range Rover doing that speed, say because it's a residential area, and a little kid steps out in front of you. Boom, kid dead, end of.

Being on a bike isn't really very different, except in the event of a little kid stepping out in front of you the chances are you both end up dead or badly injured.

The very fact they have a speed camera there suggests you aren't the first to drive that stretch too fast.

Put it down to experience and ride very very carefully until those points come off!

!
So are you advising to swerve a bit and just clip the kid, you could still cause serious injury, well enough to make then watch where they're going anyway, without coming off......or have I missed the point.....

You know what I mean, the way some of them run out from between parked cars you'd have no chance of stopping, especially if you are already riding on autopilot!

Hate to say it, but there are LOADS of limits with no discernible reason to them!
20s outside schools, fair enough, but at 6am or school holidays?
30s on dead straght dual carriageways in perfect visibility?
40s tacked on to 30s, just because they could?
50s marching across the countryside, just because some gnome at a desk thinks it might get him a thumping bonus and a gong at the end of it?
All part of the dumbing down Big Brother is watching syndrome that blights our lives.

Aye, suggests it's perfectly safe to do that speed and as such there's a good profit margin in it...

If a kid runs out in front of anything doing 20mph they're pretty much dead. Let alone a perfectly law abiding fully loaded 7.5 tonner or something...

Parents, educate your children not to get run over, it's not hard you c***s.
