All bikes do end up on their side at some point or another. It's just a fact of riding.
Being a new rider as well, will make you even more likely to make a silly mistake due to lack of experience.

specially the low speed stuff.

There are plenty on here who will tell you about having dropped it whilst manovering on their own drive etc. And oh how they wished they had found the cash for the bungs beofre having to find the cash for new plastics/levers/indicators/pegs for one side or another.

I'm still sticking to my reasons for getting a can first tho

Hey there, welcome to the madhouse

Its not that we want you to fall off or drop your bike its just a precaution that if the worst did happen you will save a hell of alot of money. Bit like insurance I guess, recommend you ride with it rather than not but hope you dont need to use its services

Refresher course is also much advised once those are done then get the can

That's not because we have no confidence in you. It's just that most of us have dropped ours at one time or another.

Crash bungs for sure. The quickest and easiest way to protect your pride and joy. Next would be a scott oiler to protect that chain and sprockets.

The money that you save from not having to replace broken bits and not having to change chain and sprockets so often, can then be spent on the tart bits.

Thanks guys. I'll be investing in some bungs ASAP. Probably R&G ones unless someone has a better idea??

I nearly needed them last night when the road suddenly became covered in gravel
