Used to have a 1.8 Mk1 GTi. Best car I've ever owned, bar the insurance and temptation to be very silly in it

Not sensible but this isn't for away from Edinburgh

http://pictures.autotrader.co.uk/ATD...a?id=310812291 Annoyingly it doesn't show anything with the IMG tabs ?!!

3 and a bit grand on Autotrader. It's not a standard Mk1

Me too - I had two Mk1 Golfs at one stage - a 1600 Diesel that did 60mpg not matter how hard I drove it and a 1600 GTi that I "resurrected"...

I would really like one but I would have to put it back to standard I think. Theres to many about now that have been overly modified IMHO

Couldn't insure it Not and keep the bike anyway. But it looks perfect... Damn you! VW should just stop making new Golfs, they're only making fools of themselves

The Mk1's probably smaller than the current Polo

It's the only FWD car, I've owned, that I'd be happy to go too hot into a corner with.

I had it fitted with a full set of Konis and it was shod with Yokohamas. The grip with them was phenomenal

Had to sell because of the great evil GTi Insurance Hike Currently owning a stupidly sensible Accord

Toyota Yaris 1.5 T-Sport (Not the latest model)

That's my car of choice at the mo, and would highly recommend it !
