THanks G, I enjoyed reading that, and I might have a go at trying a wheelie. It seems to be a nice comprehensive guide, so cheers for going to the effort.

when it starts rising just lower then revs a touch and it will still lift but slower
try and find your balance point

you'll hold the wheelie longer and it's easier to balance as the revs are slightly lower.

Not by any means an expert but i'm getting better at em .
Doesn't work. Tried and tested. Might work on the naked version, but then again that's aided by the gearing. Just have to stick to bouncing it up twice.

Note to all: This method sucks in the rain. First gear is still on the cards though.

Nah, you can definately clutch a faired SV up in second. Though I'm crap at it, I just get long low ones, that's rider not bike. Mine has better power and nekkid gearing now, but I used to do that out of the hairpin at Knockhill every time on standard.

Mines naked with a 46 rear and 15 front sprock. After a little practise at the weekend i can hold it for a good 75-100m now Only svs i've been on was Jase22's and i didn't want to wring it's neck ( although i did try a cheeky first gearer ).

And dumping the clutch in wet has some...interesting results

In first you can pick it up from a standstill though. Tricky to balance, but still looks cool.

I can clutch my faired curvey up in second no problems.

It feels a bit happier doing it on an emptier tank.

I don't bother with compressing the front, bouncing etc, just get to around the right revs (not looking at the tacho at the time ) and dump the clutch with the revs around the red line.

It doesn't come up massively fast, but fast enough to give a good load of rpm left to play with.

Oh and I can do it in the wet often, definitely in the damp, providing the tyre's not too cold. Got Supercorsa Pros on at the moment, but could also do it with 010 I had on before.
