Speedo sensor. Where's that?

Is that the unit that the rotor sits in?

Yes. It's this part where rotor sits, and this part is with cable which goes up. I attached the picture, and this sensor is number 20.

I have got one of those sensors and rotor. But it's from a curvy. Don't know if it is the same as a pointy.

We have the same problem re the speedo reading twice the actual speed.

A dealer replaced the whole sender and rotor (charging us £60 plus fitting). Because the rotor was broken. (albeit that the speedo worked fine before he had the wheel off)

But we then discovered that the speed read out was twice normal.

Dealer advised he would change the lot as he fitted units for a Vstrom thinking they were the same. But advising an additional cost of £40 plus.

For £40 we got a complete rotor and sender on Ebay with a view to returning (and gaining credit for) the unit fitted by the dealer.

But after fitting this also reads twice the speed!!

The one we took off "appears" to be in perfect condition.

Something wierd is happening any clues???

You lot who have double-reading speedos, you have wrong rotor fitted, or you have it set in kph perhaps. Later pointies use 8 magnets per rotation.
